Hey there! My name is Aurelia and I am the founder of The Dancing Rutabaga. I created this site to help women find the reassurance and confidence needed to crush their weight loss and fitness goals! This site is going to cover different exercise methods, types of healthy foods, teach you how to set goals and achieve them, and so much more! Basically, I want to give you all the steps to lay a foundation for your success.
You may be wondering… why “Dancing Rutabaga”? Well let me explain! I chose to call this site The Dancing Rutabaga because I wanted the site to reflect something fun, energetic, and healthy! I hope that we’re all able to find these same characteristics in our lives!
How It All Began
If you’re here then you’re probably going through the same struggles that a lot of us have or are currently going through. Self improvement has sometimes been the only thing that I have had in life that has allowed me to have control over. I knew I wanted to lose weight. Not only because I wanted to be thinner and healthier but because with everything going on in life I wanted something consistent. I needed something that I could turn to and work hard at. I needed that routine in my life that I could escape to and look back on all my progress and say: “Whoa! I can’t believe I did it…” I am still working on my fitness goals and self improvement as I’m sure I always will. I want to share what I have learned so far from my personal experiences, and research I’ve done.
There has been so much trial and error and breaking points and moments of helplessness. Times when I have gotten distracted and lost sight of where I was going and what was really important to me. I wish that I had someone to turn to for help and questions. I want this to be a safe place where you can learn at your leisure and find inspiration. Build a community for everyone to support each other. If you have your own weight loss story then please share it with me! I would love to build a page for people to post their stories and what worked best for them.
Trust Me, I know It Can Suck
I have been through the crazy ups and downs and confusion of weight loss (and still am). What kinds of exercises should I do? What kinds of foods can or should I eat? How much can I eat? There is so much out there on the internet about what you should and shouldn’t do when it comes to weight loss. I have built this site not to tell you what’s right or wrong but to instead help give you clarity, guidance, inspiration, and the confidence to set realistic goals, and to achieve them.
I like to take things slow. When you are starting to make changes in your life, very rarely does a drastic change for the better last you the long run. It’s the same for New Year Resolutions. I can’t tell you how many times me and others I know have set goals and fell through very quickly, leaving those ambitions in the dust. This is why I will not only give you information but hopefully connect with you in a way that awakens a desire, a passion, a movement in your life so that you can be your best.
I Truly Just Want the Best For You
What is this all about really? It really comes down to you. I want you to succeed. I want everyone to succeed with their weight loss, dieting, and fitness goals. I want you to succeed in your personal life and happiness. It is hard to find the self motivation. It is hard to not think about what everyone else may say, and think. This is a journey, a dedication, a test of how much work you’re willing to give towards your goals. I think it is super important to be upfront and honest with everyone about what a weight loss journey is. I hope this site gives you a step up in your life goals.
